Hello to all!

EverybodyHurts here in Scranton.  I’ve arrived at the Radisson, room 315, for all those of you who are coming to the viewing party later for “Local Ad.”  My room looks out over the Radisson parking lot and Lackawanna Ave.  I can see the “Electric City” sign which will look nice lit up at night.  Not so nice will be the electric billboard flashing right across the street.  Oh well.  We went to Cooper’s and the woman said that a party of 20 should be able to be handled on Saturday around 12pm as long as we give them a head’s up around 11am when they open.  I’m just guesstimating how many might be interested.

Hello fellow fans!

EverybodyHurts here!  You may know me from any of the Office messageboards since I have the same username everywhere.  Just wanted to let you all know that if you’re coming into Scranton on Thursday and you’re looking for a place to watch “Local Ad”, that I will be having a viewing party that evening in my hotel room at the “Radish Inn”.  (Thanks, Pam!)  All are welcome.  We’ll squish everybody in!  Snacks are welcome if you want to bring goodies.  (I’m partial to Devil Dogs)   Obviously I won’t have my room number until that day so I’ll post it here when I find out, or you can PM me your cell number on the MTT forums, and I’ll call you after I check in.  If I have your cell, I will also keep you apprised of what the MTT’ers will be doing during the weekend.  We want to try to hang out together as much as possible, both at scheduled events, and after.  We’re planning to hit some local bars after the activities end on Friday and Saturday nights and we’re going to do lunch at Cooper’s probably on Saturday.  So come say hello to your online friends!  We’re going to have a blast and make lots of great memories in the Electric City!

I made a few phone calls today to try to see how much internet access we will have during the convention, for those who are interested in liveblogging.

Radisson
I have confirmed with the Radisson that they have FREE wi-fi available throughtout the entire hotel. Yay, Radisson!

Hilton
Location of blogger breakfast on Sunday.
The Hilton has wi-fi in their business center. Not sure if that is the exact location where the blogger breakfast is being held.

University of Scranton
Location of cast Q&A on Saturday.
They have wi-fi in the John Long Center and throughout most of the campus.

Scranton Cultural Center
Location of Writer Q&A on Sunday.
They do NOT have wi-fi there. Bummer.

Cast Appearances Update

Someone at Rock 107 has a blog. There’s nothing here we don’t probably already know, but it does confirm that Steve won’t be at the convention.

As far as Steve Carell I’m told he has a previous commitment and won’t be here. The other principal cast members, John Krasinski, Jenna Fischer, and Rainn Wilson are not presently expected to attend…

…but I was chatting with a member of the Scranton branch of the “Party Planning Committee” just this morning and found out that if anyone else from the show DOES show up it will be very last-minute and possibly won’t even make the website until the Convention is underway.

I pressed for a name. Nothing. I offered a name. I got a sly smile.

Now of course the Party Planning Committe is reluctant to talk about any of this because it is not likely that “Jim”, “Pam”, or “Dwight” will be here. And I’m not saying any of them will be here either.

But evidently it’s not entirely out of the question.

Like I said, I think most of us suspected this already. If any of principals show up, we aren’t likely to get much notice of it. *shrugs* Either way, it’s going to be an epic party.

Okay, here’s my first official useless Office Convention posting. Hello, Cleveland! er, Scranton! [fx: the crowd go wild]

Hard to believe that a week from tomorrow I will already be somewhere in mid-to-western Pennsylvania, making my way toward the convention. (Thursday night stop in Philly to watch The Office, get some sleep, then pick up Larry the next morning from the airport.)

I know I’ve mentioned it before, but I’ll have my laptop and my digital camera, and plan to make use of both extensively. My laptop has an SD card reader built in, so if anyone’s bringing a digital camera and wants a safe place to download photos over the weekend, just ask. I’m sure this isn’t an experience you’d want to lose the pictures to!
